Klebs on Mastodon

Hey everyone, Klebs here and today I announce that I’m leaving Twitter to complete my transition towards Mastodon.

You may be asking yourselves why I’ve been less active on my blog and for the past few months, on Twitter as well. One of the reasons is lack of ideas for blog posts. The other is that Twitter is a huge of source of distraction.

Facebook and Instagram used to be where I spent most of my free time. Closing these accounts only made Twitter my next big time waster. Granted, the latter turned out to have helped a lot with spreading my blog and engaging with the community. However, I also got into too many conversations unrelated to Linux gaming. I thought that taking a step back would help me regain focus. Instead, I started following flame wars and profanity-laced dramas like a lurker watching people argue on a public space. My blog was inactive for too long and I had to do something about it.

I’m aware Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are where most people gather. That’s why I created a Mastodon account a few months ago but didn’t use as much because there weren’t as much people on it. However, I still need a social network to talk about my blog and also find other Linux users to have interesting conversations. Therefore, Mastodon will the exclusive (at least, for now) outlet to share my next blog posts. Moreover, using a decentralized, free and open source social platform like Mastodon where free speech is actually possible is a huge bonus in my book.

If you’re comfortable communicating in French and want to chat with other Linux gamers, join us at Linux Gaming Francophone.

Don’t hesitate to send me your questions and comments on Mastodon.

Thanks for reading and I’ll talk to you soon. Laters.
